I had the pleasure of knowing Warden Pepper and his wife while living in London House for two years, from 1991 to 1993. As Madeleine wrote, he truly enjoyed his years as Warden. Although it was many years ago I remember as if it were just yesterday: the day he interviewed me for London House, meals together in the Dining Hall, Faculty Dinners, evenings at Royal Albert Hall in the LH box, concerts and lectures from residents, attending meetings together for the Resident Board of Directors... He loved living on the Square and being around students. I really appreciated that. He was always perfectly dressed and very friendly. I will miss you Warden Pepper and will always remember your kind words of encouragement and friendly smile. Thank you for everything Warden Pepper! And thank Madeleine for writing a well-deserved and lovely tribute to him.
